A Day with Vampires

We visited the Vatican museum yesterday, where Michelangelo’s Creation and St. Peter’s Basilica are. Did you know that the Vatican is its own country? They have their own pope-approved stamps, passports, and banks (dirty money anyone?). It’s actually very difficult to get into the state outside of the Vatican museum, requiring visas like visiting other countries.

The art in the Vatican museum is astounding. So many of the major Renaissance pieces are here. Every room is incredibly ornate — you definitely would need at least a couple days to view all the collections.

And here I was thinking the pope used a disposable Bic.

Our last part of the tour was of St. Peter’s Basilica. One word: unbelievable!

Of course, after our tour we stopped by the post office to send ourselves a Vatican-stamped postcard :)
