A Quest for Great Gelato

Buon giorno! Today was a pistachio sort of day, and I get the feeling each day of my trip is going to be a different flavor if you know what I mean, haha. I read that you can tell tourist gelato from the honest, Italian kind by the colors — the colors should always be muted and natural looking and definitely not the bright neons you see on street corners. We found this gem after a homely dinner of cannenoli with ricotta. Needless to say, my first Roman gelato experience did not disappoint! Check out the creamy, sticky goodness above :)
